For over 25 years, I have dedicated my career to helping businesses and business owners navigate the complex challenges they face in both the boardroom and the courtroom. My journey began at the University of Texas at Austin, where I graduated from the Business Honors Program at the McCombs School of Business. During my time there, I was honored with the Texas Excellence Award for academic achievement and leadership, the university’s highest undergraduate award. I then earned my law degree from the University of Texas School of Law, graduating with honors. Following law school, I spent two decades representing a diverse client base, including many family-owned businesses that form the backbone of the U.S. economy. Through this experience, my passion for entrepreneurship deepened, and I saw firsthand the limitations of the traditional legal model. Motivated by a vision for something better, I took a leap of faith and started my own law firm from my family’s living room. In just six years, my partner and I grew that firm from zero to over $7 million in annual revenue. Along the way, I also founded a boutique insurance and finance company serving the legal industry and a small sports agency dedicated to helping young professional golfers navigate the complexities of international professional golf. Beyond my businesses, I have been an active member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), attending Global Leadership Conferences and as a perineal member of the board of directors of the Houston chapter. EO has played a pivotal role in shaping my entrepreneurial journey, providing continuous learning opportunities and a network of like-minded innovators committed to growth. The tools I have learned along the way, such as value of having a business operating system, have been critical to my own entrepreneurial success. Looking back, I am proud of the businesses I have built and the entrepreneurs I have helped succeed. With a diverse professional background spanning law, finance, and business strategy, I remain committed to making a meaningful impact in the entrepreneurial world. In 2023, I founded VMG Capital Advisory to focus on my twin passions: entrepreneurship and service. Through VMG, I support business owners with strategic business consulting, implementation of growth operating systems, outsourced general counsel services, independent board service, and—when the right opportunities arise—direct investment.
